Tulsa Time 2010 – part 1

We got off around 9:45, excited to be on our way to Stephanie’s.  Of course, I amused myself with taking a few pictures along the way.100_1395

The Canadian River is quite full.  This is not a very good quality picture as I was taking it through the window (with reflections) and into the sun.100_1396

We were pleasantly surprised at the condition of Interstate 40 from OKC to Henryetta, that’s where we got off, so we don’t know if it’s in bad condition from there to Arkansas or not.  We will find out soon and we’ll be pulling the Q.

We got to Stephanie’s about 12:30 PM.  There’s a Kildeer pair in the area by their house.100_1402

Stephanie and Rick have done a lot of improvements to their yard.  The Impatients are very pretty and…. 100_1410

the Pink Geranium.100_1415

Logan has a baseball game tonight, so we met Rick and, granddaughter, Kristina, at Cheddar’s for dinner before the game.  One table took up three parking spots. :-)  It was great to see Kristina again!  (Remember her visit to see us in Arizona the 24th of April?  Hey! Exactly a month ago.2010 May 24 Logan bball Kristina-7

Logan (7) is a Lens Lover…. a photographer’s dream come true.  2010 May 24 Logan bball Kristina-9

I love this picture of Don with Stephanie, Kristina and Logan.100_1429

Finally!  It’s game time.  I was a little disappointed that there was not one single place to take pictures that wasn’t behind a fence, so all the pictures have wire in them, which accounts for the smudgy look in some of them.  I only took a few.  Ok, I took a lot, so I made a few collages.2010 May 24 Logan bball Kristina-12010 May 24 Logan bball Kristina-32010 May 24 Logan bball Kristina-5

Our little baseball player is very intense and this pictures reflects that.100_1440-1

Oklahoma has some very pretty sun sets, too.100_1447

Stephanie and Rick are big “24” fans, so we watched the series finale when we got home.  That is a very intense show.

A little before midnight, I looked out the front door to see if the mama Barn Swallow was with her babied in the nest and she was.  I would love to catch a picture like this:  http://www.naturfoto-cz.de/barn-swallow:hirundo-rustica-photo-1402.html

The babies in the nest on Steph’s front porch are not as big as the babies in the picture online.  You can barely see their large beaks in the picture here.  100_1454Earlier this afternoon when I tried to take pictures of the babies in the nest, high up in the corner of the porch ceiling,  the mama was quite aggressive and would “dive bomb” me!  I was too busy ducking to get a good picture.

It’s wonderful to be with our Tulsa/Bixby family.
