Sunday

Sweet fellowship at church this morning.  Music was great.  Sermon was great (Ordinary People Doing Extraordinary Things-Joshua 2).  But there was just a heaviness present.  Loved ones passing.  Friend's son taking his own life.  Lots of illness.  Grandchildren acting up and causing heartache.  You know... life.  We prayed, in first service, for one lady in the first lady because she had called to report that she could not walk because of the pain in her knee.  Low and behold, she showed up for the second service.  Praise  the Lord!  Knee replacement is probably in her future.  Thank God, we have Him to be with us through all of life's situations.

After church, we went to the new Eva's Mexican Restaurant in CG and there I was without my camera.  The place is really big and very beautiful.  Food was excellent.  Waitress was very friendly and good at her job.

We came home and crashed.  Don was worn out from this morning.  I was suffering from a food coma. :-)  Don cat-napped while watching Hallmark and me.... there's no better sleep than football sleep.  I woke up just in time to see Fitzgerald catch a long bomb in the end zone for the blue team just before half-time of the Pro Bowl.

Just as the sun went down.... (did I mention that it rained here last night and it's really cool today?) we walked over to Don and Carol's from Missouri.  Her mother passed away this afternoon after suffering a broken hip.  She was 87.  They're flying to KC tomorrow.  We visited with them an hour or so... she needed to talk about her mom, prayed with them and left so they could finish packing.  Please pray for Carol and Don and family during this time.

Just about caught up on blog-reading.  Little Abby is hanging in there, but oh so sick.  She's medicated unto oblivion because the pain is so intense.  Breaks my heart.  We're praying that God will bring her through this to enjoy a healthy life with her family and that their faith and trust in the Lord will bring much glory to God.

Sorry.  No pictures today.

There's a prayer within me:  Dear God, creator of heaven and earth, forgive this nation... forgive me.  Remember Your lovingkindness and mercy.  Save our nation.  Thank You for allowing us to be a part of Your work in this world.  Bless our friends and family everywhere.  Keep the evil one from them and place a hedge of protection around them.  I love You, Lord.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.
