It was another wonderful morning of worship through song, prayer, praise and preaching this morning. Our new friend, Thelma Taylor and a visitor with Sunscape residents, Gary Temple sang a special this morning, the song, "Can He? Could He? Would He." Here they are practicing. Singing during the service. From my chair in the back row of the choir, I got this good picture of Don and Thelma's husband, Jim, listening to her and Gary singing. I don't know all of the details, but this was Jim's first Sunday in church since a recent hospital stay and illness. Everyone is amazed at how well he is now doing and he plans to start teaching a Bible Study this Wednesday. He's a great man of prayer. I love the look on his face as he watches his wife singing. We don't have the numbers yet, but the house was full again. Next Sunday, we will go to two services: 8:30-9:30 and 10:00-11:00.
After church, we went over to Quail Run to visit friends (I finally got to see Snookie!!) and meet the CRM chaplain there, Mitch and Kim Moser. We got there at the last part of Mitch's sermon, but we enjoyed what we heard. Afterwards, we went to lunch with them and had a really encouraging visit with them. It was wonderful to get to know them and hear their hearts about their commitment to their ministry. Quail Run is their first 'assignment' with CRM and we are very happy they are serving the Lord with us. We're looking forward to spending more time with them.
It was so good to see Frank and Helen Maguire again.
When we got back from lunch, we visited with George and Jo Becker, friends we met last year at Quail Run and Mitch and Kim. (They are parked next door to the Becker's) We have a water leak in our pickup and one of these days, someone will figure out where it's coming from. George tried and he also recommended a good mechanic.
We wish you were all here with us.
