Big day Monday

Don was busy last week attending two meetings regarding the free clinic here in Branson.  Easy meetings, meeting people and just watching what and who God has brought together in such a short time.  The clinic is almost completely furnished now and ready for "business."  Don and Dennis are ecstatic about the professionals who have joined the team and the devotion they have to helping the uninsured and the excitement about sharing the Good News with the folks in this area who need medical attention.

Bob Ruesch, with CRM, came into town last night and Don and I picked him up on our way to FBC, Hollister last night to hear sweet friend, Barbara Rhoads, tell about her mission trip to El Salvador as EASL instructor.  She's such a blessing.  Here's Bob and Sally Maloney.100_7654Dennis & Sally found this shirt for Bob somewhere.  The Billy Bob thing is a funny that happened sometime when Don and I weren't present.100_7657 Jack & Lisa VerDeaux are also serving as chaplains at a park in the Branson area.100_7659

Now about the big day we've had today.  Don, Dennis Maloney and Bob Ruesch drove to Coffeyville & Independence, Kansas this morning to visit with Mark Kays, who is the owner of the Express Employment Professionals office there.  Mark is in charge of hiring all the employees for the Amazon.com distribution supercenter in Coffeyville and is interested in cooperating with CRM to provide a chaplain to the workampers who will be working there during the Christmas season, Oct. 1 - Dec. 23.  There will be about 600 workampers hired to work at Amazon.com and they will be parked at the City Park and a State Park nearby.  The chaplain will do a service at both parks on Sunday mornings.  Amazon.com will supply all the sites for the workampers that work there plus providing transportation from the park to work each day.  Work week consists of four ten-hour days, off three days.  Salary is $10 - $11/hour.

Don came back pretty excited as he experienced God opening doors all day long.  He can't say enough positive things about Mark Kays.  Should you be interested in working those three months, Mark can be reached at www.expresspros.com and be sure to state that you were referred by Don Baker.  We get a $25 referral fee!!

The next step for Don and I is praying about going to Coffeyville as chaplain.  We appreciate your prayers for us as we make a decision in the next few days.  Don and I will be traveling back to Coffeyville before we made a decision so I can meet with Mark and see the area.

Additional prayer requests:

1.  Several people that we are ministering to are in need of much prayer.

2.  The spiritual battle that we are all in.

3.  That this tree behind our 5'er doesn't fall on our house.  It's DEAD! and the bark is falling away leaving exposed the rotten interior with the weak side toward our house.  Management has said they will take care of it soon.100_7660100_7661
