We’ve been looking forward to today’s visit over to Peggy and Bill’s all week and then… I didn’t get a picture of them, so I found one she had posted on FaceBook.
After enjoying a light meal that Peggy had prepared, we walked the short distance to their Activity Hall for the East Valley Chorale concert. It was wonderful.
About 65 of the 80 plus members of the chorale showed up for the concert tonight. These singers are from about 35 different churches in the Phoenix area.
The director is Bruce Cochran who is an engineer in his everyday life. Once a week, the chorale meets to practice. Some travel as far as thirty-five miles one way to rehearse. During the summer, they perform at senior care centers. During the winter, the perform at least twice a week at different locations and churches.
After a tour of the activity hall and campus, we walked back to Peg and Bill’s for cake. I love the crocheted tablecloth on their table.
I didn’t eat any, but Peggy’s chocolate cake over cherries sure looked good. Don said it was delicious.
We are thrilled that we only live less then five minutes from them and are sure looking forward to getting together with Peg and Bill again this winter.
