I’ve posted about Don’s sermon, now I want to tell you about our morning at the Chapel in the Hills.
The park is almost full, so Don and I prayed that the chapel would be full this morning. We always get there about thirty minutes early and gradually, the campers begin walking up the hill to the chapel. They kept coming and coming until the house was…. you guessed it… full. What a blessing to have all ages in the chapel for worship and to hear God’s message this morning.
We are blessed to have two other preachers in the park. Tony Caffalette also sings, so guess who is thrilled about that?
Shaylynn, another camper, has volunteered to play the keyboard for us. Remember, God provided a keyboard through the United Methodist Campers rally group that was here a few weeks ago. Shaylynn (not sure of the spelling of her name) does a wonderful job.
There isn’t an American flag in the chapel and Tony wanted to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Promptly, this young man and father, came forward as a wonderful example for his children and the rest of us, stepped up on the platform, turned around…
and there was the flag on his t-shirt, so the Pledge resounded through the little chapel, especially the ONE NATION UNDER GOD part!
We sang patriotic songs and hymns, four to be exact.
It’s a little awkward to take pictures during church in such a small setting, but I just had to take one or two. Mr. Ken doesn’t like to have his picture taken. :-)
Don recognized all those who have served in our military of which there were six. Then he launched right into the sermon that touched us all.
One more picture after church was over and before everyone left the building.
To God be the glory.

Sounds like the service was a great one and glad to hear that we have lots of patriotic people, especially Christians...
