Tuesday has been a great day!

I’m going to consider this my ‘picture for the day.’100_3010

Don and I finally felt good enough to get out of the Q this morning, so we went to breakfast and then drove out to see the new Branson Airport.  The above picture was taken from a mountain out where the airport is.

The terminal.  Can you tell that it was built by BassPro?100_3014100_3015

Then Don drove down a rode we’ve not been on before and I got this shot of Table Rock Lake.100_3019

As we pulled up to the Q, my phone rang.  It was Snookie Quinn and they are in Missouri…. on Interstate 44!!!  We made plans to meet them at Stratford in about thirty minutes.

There they are!!!  Snookie’s the one with the camera!… my blogging mentor.100_3026

What a wonderful surprise!  We did not expect to get to see Bob and Snookie this summer and now we are making plans for the next few days.

The Quinn’s have new ‘wheel estate’ and Bob is explaining the Big Foot jacks and leveling system.  N~I~C~E.100_3029

They are both so tan from being on the beach in Delaware all summer.100_3030

Really got some good shots as they rolled away.  We will meet up with them tomorrow for a few days.2010 Sept 21 Snookie and Bob-1

Can’t wait!!!

We came right back to Branson and started packing things up in the Q.

MAKING MEMORIES

Well, wow!  After Dennis and Sally left, we went over to see Lucy and Jimmy to say good-bye and go to dinner with them at the Olive Garden.  After dinner, we rode around and Jimmy took us on a street we have never been on and look what we found!!  The Sycamore Log Church.100_3040

Jimmy pulled into the small parking area and we piled out of the car.  Lucy went to check the front door.100_3041

It was locked.  Sort of.  Notice the screen door type hook latch.100_3051

Undiscouraged, Lucy unlocked the door and went in and turned on the lights.  There was a sign there that said “come on in and please turn off the lights when you leave.”

This land was donated by Laura Sutton and the church built was built by the community and the Jones family in 1933.100_3042

Inside was very quaint.  Look who went straight to the pulpit.100_3043

We got a great idea for a pulpit for the ranch!  A three legged tree trunk section.  Perfect.  Don is signing the guest registry.  There was even a basket for our offering with gifts already there.  Others had been here before us.100_3044

Lucy determined quickly that the old piano needed to be tuned.100_3045

The wooden plaque says “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. Psalm 121:1”100_3046

Notice the padded pews!100_3047

Over the door.100_3048

Lucy, picking out her pew.100_3049

A close up of the sign outside.  Wish we had known about this little log church in the woods before now.100_3052

We were so glad we found this old log church.

Mysteriously, we found ourselves at Culver’s, the first place we took Jimmy and Lucy three years ago when we first met.100_3053

Jimmy had green frozen custard.  The rest of us had normal flavors of frozen custard.100_3056

Oh my goodness, we laughed and talked and laughed some more.  Making memories, as Lucy said.
