Don had a meeting at 10:00 AM after the Vet Day ceremony, Men's Bible Study.
At 4:00 PM, he had another meeting with Benevolence Committee. At a little after 5:00, we were in Stanfield at the free clinic to observe. When we walked into the building that was prepared by the First Baptist Church to be used exclusively by the clinic, there were about 25 people sitting in the waiting room. Busy, busy. Alice Parkin, pictured, got only a few minutes to chat with us and make arrangements for us to have dinner with she and Dr. Parkin, hopefully, next week. Alice loves her work and we love Alice. While in the waiting room, Don and I heard this little voice behind us, "cheeese." Don asked the little guy if he wanted his picture taken and he grinned and nodded his head, "yes." Meet Louis. He's eight and in the second grade at Stanfield Elementary and flashes a brilliant smile.
I'm sure there were at least thirty people at the clinic when we left and we were delighted with what we witnessed.
God is so good and we trust Him completely to guide us as we plan the chaplaincy training for the volunteers here.
