It's Friday, already?

It's been quite a week, especially yesterday.  We've had lots of rain. 100_1949 The usually low Canadian River has water flowing.100_1950

Monday and Tuesday, we took Mama, first, to have her carotid arteries scanned and then Tuesday to the heart surgeon for a consultation.  Dr. McCurdy told us that the blockage in one artery had reduced from 75% to 60% and blockage in the other from 10% to hardly any blockage, in a year  We were/are thrilled!!  But she's been working at it.  The report from her doctor visit last week was that her cholesterol was excellent.  Tammy, Dr. McCurdy commented on how cute she was when she giggled and gave her a big hug, telling her that she doesn't need surgery, she doesn't even need a stint and she's not a stroke candidate.  More giggles.  When we got back to her apartment, as I was bringing in something from the truck, I found her standing in the kitchen clapping her hands.... oh to have had my camera.  I asked her if she was praising the Lord and she said, with a giggle.... "Yes!!!"  What a precious lady is my mother.

Well, that must have just been too much excitement for her.  Wednesday, she felt wretch-ed all day.  Light headed, sick at her stomach, etc.  Dr. McCurdy did remind her that she is 91 and just may have to live with a little light-headedness.  She said, "I can live with it."

Thursday, yesterday, she was much better when I went over to spend a few hours with her while Don met his appointments.

Oh, how God used Don yesterday.  He was on a roll as he visited with three pastors in the area regarding Christian Resort Ministries, Int'l and starting free medical clinics in their churches/missions.  Don explained that CRM offers the chaplain training for those who believe God is leading them to be a part of the clinic ministry.  There are so many resources in this area and we just can't believe that these churches here don't utilized what they have available... free diabetic screening, etc., to get people in their communities inside their doors and present Jesus and His Good News to them.  Some people have never heard of Him, they know something is missing from their lives, but they don't know what it is.  It's the churches responsibility to find every venue possible to introduce Jesus Christ to them.  I sound like Don now. :-)  Anyway, he had a great day and was successful, praise the Lord, in getting all three pastors connected to Bill Sissons who will help them get their clinics started.  Oh, I almost forgot.... the last pastor Don visited invited him to preach in their church this coming Sunday evening!  God blessed Don with such favor today and there was an instant Bond between him and Pastor Bruce.  Woodland Hills Baptist Church is an alive, vital church community getting outside of their four walls and serving and reaching others for the Kingdom of Christ.  It's such a treat to see people excited about the Lord and wanting to be a part of His plans for the world they live in.

Thank you so much for praying for us this summer and for those who help us financially... many blessings are prayed for you daily, also.  We could not do this ministry without you and we just praise God that we have met such wonderful, God-loving people who have caught the vision of what God has called us to do.  Thank you for your words of encouragement... we love hearing from you.  We love you all and long to see you again.  Do not hesitate to contact us if there is anything we can do for you.

Please continue to pray for us as we prepare to travel back to Casa Grande, Arizona the end of September.  There are still several appointments we have while here, also.  We will leave this area the first week in September and travel to Texas to spend a few weeks there with daughter and family and then head from our winter destination.

Pray that we will not miss one single thing that God has planned for us.

Pray for our health, especially Don's.  Well, mine, also, as I do not have medical insurance, but mainly, we just need to be healthy to do what God has called us to do.

We are so incredibly blessed.
