Health day in San Antonio

Today is the day we go to San Antonio to the Audie Murphy VA Med Center to have Don’s pacemaker checked.  We will spend the night to be there for Don’s Mohs surgery tomorrow.

Because of a wildfire not far from San Antonio, there is a lot of smoke in the air.100_6150

It’s amazing to me how that little box in Don’s chest records every beat of his heart and can be printed off and read.  The appointment went well, except that it makes Don feel like he’s doing aerobic exercise and really wears him out.

After Don’s appointment, we met Carol and George for lunch at Martha’s Mexican Restaurant and then we went to our Motel 6 room to see if we had a table in the room to play cards on.  We did!!!  That room didn’t have much in the way of extras, but it did have a table and 3 chairs… I said on the bed.  We all needed the fun time we had together.

Carol and George left around 6:00 PM to go back over to RIOSA to check on Kris and get her ready for bed.

After the big lunch we had at Martha’s, we ate light at Denny’s.  I only had a peach smoothie.

It’s been a good day.  We are so blessed.
