Look Out!! Diesel's TWO!!

Our miracle grandson is TWO today!

Camden Scott "Diesel" was born two years ago today in spite of the fact that his mama had only a two per cent chance of getting pregnant.  His daddy has a few more tidbits to add to this subject, but we'll forego that.

Camden meets his big sister for the first time.  "So that's the person attached to that little voice I've been hearing ever since my ears developed."  The common statement by everyone that saw Camden:  "If he grows into those hands and feet, he will be a BIG boy!" followed by: "Is there a hint of red in his hair????"Camden Dec 14 2006_00

Finally, Nonna gets her hands on her new grandson who is "wonderfully and fearfully made." Camden Dec 14 2006 Nonna Camden, a few weeks old, with his mama, Leslie, (who, by the way, now feels that all is right with the world since they have a son in the nest with their daughter.)Camden & Leslie 01 2007

We are just so blessed to have our little red headed boy in the family.   Camden 4-months This is the baby of our entire family.  We're all (except for his Aunt Nae-Nae) trying not to spoil him too terribly, but it's tough.  I mean, really.... look at that face.  The closer he got to TWO, the harder it has become to keep up with him.  He doesn't have much time at all to stop and pose for a picture... are you kidding me... got things to do and places to go.  "Ohhhh, look what I found just laying here in a basket!"  Cam spoonsThe weird angle is because Camden was on the move when his mama was trying to take this picture.  Isn't that a beautiful head of red hair?!  There's no freckles yet, but you just know they're hiding under that flawless skin waiting to start peeking out.  Time will tell.  (Nonna loves freckles!)  Camden Aug 2008 c_5588_wm He will sit still with daddy and big sis, Emma, for a few seconds, though.Cam K Em He does get tired though and daddy's shoulder is a great place to rest. (He really is this adorable.) Camden tired Did I mention that Camden is eating his family out of house and home?  After all, "I am going to be a BIG boy." (He really is this CUTE!)Camden eating  Camden and family went to visit his great-grandmother, Mama Trudy, in November.  She got so tickled at him saying, "cheese! cheese!"  After the photo shoot Diesel came up "missing" and was found in the Mama Trudy's bathroom watching the toilet paper unroll into a heap on the floor.  He's also a master door and drawer opener.  It's discovery time for our Diesel.  Camden & Mama Trudy

So, our precious Camden, we can't wait to see how much you grow and learn on your way to THREE.... but take your time........Camden you-have-my-heart1

and have a really special fun time TODAY.

WE LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!!

Expect anything

You never know what you're going to see around here.  This morning, while we were sitting out visiting with Bubba, Don suddenly said, "That dog's driving that motorcycle!"  As the Harley pulled into the park and drove to a site, I jumped up with camera in hand.  Before I could get to them, the man, his wife and his dog had all dismounted the bike.  So, I visited with Lisa McGehee and Shep until her husband, Bobby, came out to leave.  Shep was such a good girl, waiting patiently for her master. 100_6572 They're from Enid, OK, really nice, friendly folks. They take trips all the time on the Harley, with the dog, pulling the trailer.  Don't believe me?  Here's Shep getting her goggles on.  100_6568Now, she's ready to roll. And this is where she rides, usually sitting so Bobby can see.100_6569 And away they go!  Too funny.100_6570  Lucy, Carol and I went to the $100 store (Wal-Mart) this afternoon and did our shopping.  Got a clock for the 5'er and a couple of rugs, plus country ribs for supper tonight.  Yummmm.

Our Diesel had tubes put in his ears early this morning.  Here's a sweet picture of him in the recovery room, taken with his daddy's cell phone. Camden in recovery 6 2 2008 Leslie also posted a picture she took of her grand mother, Mama Trudy with great-grandchildren, Memorial Day weekend.  Leslie published the sweetest post on her blog last night... made me cry.  I call it "Out of the Mouth of Babes."  She titled it "Mommy, I'm following in your path."mama trudy emma & camden   Speaking of children, I'm praying for Angie & Todd Smith's sister's family, the Sponberg's, who are having little Luke's memorial service today.  So heart wrenching.  This family has been through so much.  You can read all about the last week's happenings at "Bring the Rain".... link to the right in my favorite websites & blogs.

Ribs were delicious and we enjoyed Lucy's potato salad and Don's special beans tonight.  After a very humid day, it cooled off around 5:30 and we (Bubba, Lucy, Carol, Glen, Don & I) were able to eat outside and enjoy the evening without mosquitoes.  We do have some really pesky itty bitty tiny ants outside that we are fighting furiously to keep them outside.

I pray everyone has a great evening!

Pook needs prayer

It's 12:23 AM and daughter, Leslie, has posted that Pook (pictured at the beach) was running a temperature of over 104 earlier tonight.  Grammy came over and assisted Leslie with giving Pook her second tepid bath and managed to get her fever down and she was sleeping when Leslie posted.  As you know, Daddy is away working in Corpus Christi and Leslie has the weight of these kinds of situations.  Thank God for Grammy.  Thank you for praying for Pook.  Also, if she doesn't get to go visit cousins as planned this weekend, she's going to be heartbroken. She's four.CC Emma beach  Also, Diesel has ear tube surgery planned for June 2.  Thank you for praying for him also. Isn't this an adorable face?CC Camden beach 3

Dave & Darlene Report & Waco - Day 5 & 6

Received this email from Darlene & Dave this morning. It's always wonderful to hear from them.

They wrote:

Good Morning,

How are you both? I guess that is a dumb question, huh? All I have to do is read your blog and I know that you are very happy to be back with your family. And they look happy to have you, too. They are adorable.

We are in still in Kerrville but will be leaving later this morning. Wanted to wait till the Final Four games were over before heading into San Antonio. Thanks to Chuck & Janet Carstensen for the heads up about Buckhorn Lake RV Resort, it is really nice. Enjoyed Fredericksburg too.

We are heading to Admiralty RV Park where Joyce Cooley from Quail Run is now workamping. Will be fun to see a familiar face. Our weather has been great and we are thankful for that. Also, no more problems with either the fifth wheel or truck. Our thoughts go out to those that are having mechanical or weather related problems. Hope they are all taken care of soon.

Will close for now, take care and keep in touch,

Love, Darlene & Dave

We, also, have a good friend, Yvonne Rominger, workamping in the office at Admiralty RV Park. We met Yvonne in Branson last summer and I worked with her in the office there. Yvonne and Joyce have met. She's a sweetheart, too. Those office girls are just the best, eh Barb? :-)

Yes, we are very happy to be here. The kiddos are so adorable and fun to be with. Pray for Leslie, Khalil and the kids, though, being away from Daddy is very hard on all of them.

YEAH! 100 feet of coaxial and $40 later, we finally have TV! We missed the OT of the basketball last night, so Don quit messing around with it and he got the dish set properly and WA-LA. We know what to do from now on, wherever we are.

Also, please pray for Don. Wouldn't you know it, we leave the dry air and he gets a cold. Says he feels a little better than yesterday. He's been sweating a lot while outside getting the dish adjusted and adding the extra cable, so maybe he's sweating the cold out of his system.

Two days in a row now, I've been up early to help Leslie out with the kids. 5:30 a.m. Yea, you heard me. I know you don't believe it, but it's true. The sacrifices we make for our kids. Not the helping with the kids part, but the getting up early part... really not a big sacrifice, but you all know that. Diesel was so cute when I picked him up. He saw me through the window and ran to try to open the door for me. He's such a sweet boy. A big bruiser, but still sweet and loving. And Pook was all smiles when she saw me, "Nonnie!!" She's very liberal with the "I Love You"'s and I love it. Such a brilliant four year old. A cute thing she says when she's eaten and is full, "My waist hurts." Too cute. Here she is in the truck before getting out at school yesterday.
And here's Diesel this morning. He was wanting to watch the birds on the lawn and I kept getting in the way.
After Les left for work this morning at 6:45, Pook and I went back to sleep on the couch until it was time to get ready for school. Diesel had a rough time last night going to sleep; he didn't see his mom all day yesterday and she had to be gone this morning before he was up. The project her office has been working on is finished as of about 11:00 and the kids will be so happy to see her. She called me and said she was going home to crash until it's time to pick up Pook at school. Pray that I will be able to help her get the house organized and ready to put on the market. It's also threatening rain here and her lawn needs mowed and groomed. So much to do. She still has to pick out carpet and finish painting, etc, etc. The new garage door and opener was installed yesterday. Looks good. New kitchen counter top and appliances were installed last week. They look great. Pray it all comes together quickly so she can get it on the market, get it sold and move to Corpus Christi with hubby and daddy. If it sounds overwhelming, you should be here. It is, but all things are possible through Jesus Christ, who gives us strength.

Just had to post this video of Diesel "going places."

Waco - Day 4 - Sunday

Leslie whipped up some chicken enchilados last night and put them in the frig to cook this morning so they'd be ready for lunch after church. I made guacamole to take. We drove it over to Leslie's before church. There's Clifford, the toy that Pook gave us to travel with us. We enjoyed worship service this morning. Especially the music. That could be due to the fact that Leslie sings on the worship team. Leslie & family attend the United Methodist Church in Waco. In a day when it seems difficult to find Christians who really bend at the knee, we are always amazed and delighted at the number of people who make their way to the altar to pray; individuals, couples, people meeting other people at the altar to pray with them. It's such a blessing to see and feel the Holy Spirit moving and people responding.

The enchilados were delicious. Billie, Khalil's mom, brought salad. Les added refried beans and rice to the meal with chips. It was a Mexican feast.

Again this afternoon, Leslie had to work. We stayed with Pook & Deisel... naps were the order of the afternoon and then playing in the yard in the sunshine. Diesels beautiful red hair glistens in the sunlight.

Pook runs toward me. Diesel points toward Shiner, the dog.Shiner, the dog.Billie brought Parmesan Garlic bread loaf and all the sandwich fixin's and we had dinner out on the patio. Very yummy!
Don and I came home around 7:00. Tomorrow will start early for me, as I will go over to Leslie's at 6:30 AM so she can go to work... breakfast for the Heritage Alumni. I get to take Pook to school and Diesel to daycare and then Don and I have a few things we need to get done before we pick them up at 3:00.
Paying everyone had a blessed Sunday and all our Quail Run friends are having a safe and wonderful time.
