Scriptures and prayer for marriages, good or bad…

Here are some scriptures that you might find helpful or encouraging.

Mark 10:7-9

"For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh, so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate."

Ephesians 4:26-27, 32

"Be angry, and do not sin" : do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love suffers long and is kind;

love does not envy;

love does not parade itself,

is not puffed up;

does not behave rudely,

does not seek its own,

is not provoked,

thinks no evil;

does not rejoice in iniquity,

but rejoices in the truth;

bears all things,

believes all things,

hopes all things,

endures all things.

Love never fails.

Matthew 6:33

Amplified Bible (AMP)

 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right),

and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.

Directive Prayer for couples, most powerful when prayed together:

Heavenly Father,
In the name of Jesus, we rejoice and delight ourselves in You and in one another. I pray You'll draw us nearer to You so that we can know You more intimately, walk with You closely and experience greater intimacy together. I pray that we're conformed to the image of Christ, and that we may be one so that the world may see You in our relationship, and Christ will be glorified in us.
As Your Word says, may we be better together than apart and continually lift each other up. Please strengthen us by Your great power and fill us with all Your fullness so we may walk worthy of Your calling. Let us prefer one another always and walk in Your love.
I pray we're patient and kind to each other; that we're not envious or prideful. I pray we won't behave rudely, seek our own or be easily provoked. May we never go to bed angry, but let us walk in forgiveness continually towards one another, just as You have forgiven us. I pray we won't think evil of one another or rejoice in iniquity, but I pray we'll rejoice with truth. May we bear all things, believe all things, hope all things, and endure all things together. Give us Your love that never fails! Be glorified in us, Lord.
In Jesus' name I pray,
Amen

LUKE 18:37 They told him, Jesus of Nazareth is passing by. (identifying His humanity)

38 And he cried out, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” (identifying His Divinity)

39 Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

40 So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be brought to Him.

41 saying, “What do you want Me to do for you?”

He said, “Lord, that I may receive my sight.”

42 Then Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has made you well.” 43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.

If your situation has seemingly reached a point of no return, this is a very effective prayer in many situations:

JESUS, YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO HANDLE THIS. I’M DONE.
