Time is flying….

It’s Wednesday, the 14th of tax month, and I’m still working on them, state and federal.  Correction.  I finished!! Complete! Filed!  Yeah and Praise the Lord (hands in the air!!).

It was time for a break compliments of George and Karen Smith and Mimi’s Restaurant.  We had one of the best waitresses there, Vanessa.  Why am I forgetting to take her picture and pictures of our lunch?  I must be slipping (don’t feel obligated to comment on that, thanks).  George just happens to have been born and grew up in Kaufman County, Texas, about twelve miles from where my girls grew up.  It is a small world.  We have certainly enjoyed getting to know George and Karen and we’ll miss them.100_2736

The flower bed in front of Mimi’s is covered with these.  These grow native and wild in Texas, but I didn’t know their name.  I always just called them buttercups, even though they aren’t yellow.  Of course, I searched and searched and voila….

Oenothera speciosa Nutt.

Pink evening primrose, Showy evening primrose, Mexican evening primrose, Showy primrose, Pink ladies, Buttercups, Pink buttercups  (<<<<--- do you see that?  Pink Buttercups!)100_2737
Back to the Q, we received a phone call from Shari Hall.  Garth is still in the hospital and has only been allowed to get out of bed once.  The doctors are concerned that he may have a blood clot in his lung, so they are going to do another CT scan.  We’re all praying that he stays pneumonia free and that there are no blood clots anywhere.  We are very thankful that his broken ribs did not puncture his lungs or anything.
While on the phone, Glenda Bookey knocked on our door to tell Don that Lee Williams is in the hospital in Casa Grande.  When we got there, she was ICU and all “wired up” to monitors, etc.  Her heart rate keeps dipping into the 20’s so they are to put in a pacemaker on Friday.  In true Lee fashion, even though her right leg is in pain, was in good spirits.  She’s an inspiration to us.
Back in the park, it was getting toward sunset, so I walked over to the cactus garden with my camera.  Hello, little bunny.100_2744
Here’s the Saguaro that showed off early for me last year a few days before we left.  In just two days, these buds have popped out, so maybe it will show off for me again.  I’m hoping.100_2753
Toma’s bottle brush.100_2754
Don brought this to my attention.100_2757
Isn’t that strange?  It’s just sitting there.  There’s not a nest anywhere close that it could have fallen out of.  I should sneak outside (it’s 11:25 pm) and see if either of the parents are sitting on it. 100_2756

Sunset was pretty spectacular this evening.  I love it when God creates these masterpieces.100_2741100_2742100_2745100_2746100_2747

Seeing through the Eyes of Faith
Devotional thought from the messages of Adrian Rogers

BIBLE MEDITATION:
Matthew 5:8 - “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
Let me tell you how to experience God. Get your heart pure, and you will see God with the eyes of faith. You see, Jesus is not talking about your physical body. You get your spiritual heart right, and your spiritual eye will see. Hebrews 11:27 says that Moses “endured as seeing Him who is invisible.” You get your heart right, and you’ll see the invisible God...in circumstances...in nature...in the face of your spouse, your child, your grandchild. You’ll see Him in the scriptures. God will become a bright, living reality to you.
ACTION POINT:
Put on the eyes of faith today and find God creating and sustaining life. Maybe there is a garden newly abloom with spring flowers. Do you see the hand of God?

So appropriate for this season of the year…. and every day, actually.

I miss you guys so much and you haven't even left AZ yet. It has been just about 3 weeks since we've been home and I'm SOOOO ready to return to AZ. Your absence is the only thing I'm regretting about next winter. Take care and know you are always in our prayers and thoughts.
