Getting ready to serve breakfast. It’s Sunday morning and the last day of the final and twentieth Jamboree. This morning, Jack and Company are serving scrambled eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, sausage links, and pancakes: blueberry, chocolate chips and plain.
Before the “Come and Get It!” bell was rung and the blessing was prayed, I walked around and took pictures of all the RV’s in Ray and Vivian’s back yard.
Awww, there’s the Princess and the Puppy.
Hostess Vivian, on the left. The emotion of this final jamboree is easily detected on her face. It’s bittersweet… more bitter than sweet as friendships have been made here over the years and lives have been touched and changed. It’s hard to say goodbye to this celebration, I’m sure.
New friends we met through Garth and Shari are Sharon (in white) and Carl Clayton (next to Garth). They will be in south Texas, also, this winter and we plan to get together with them when we get there. They also plan to come to church at Tip O Texas at least once. Really nice folks that we enjoyed meeting and look forward to getting to know better.
Visiting, after breakfast. That’s skinny slender Susan on the left, who I mockingly teased as she went through the breakfast line, “Biscuits, no gravy; biscuits no gravy.” Shari and I learned her secret. She runs. And “biscuits, no gravy.” I told her, “this is what jealous sounds like!” She’s just beautiful, period.
Don and I sat at the back this morning, for church, which allowed me to get a good picture of the inside of the jamboree barn. It just proves that the building doesn’t determine the good time. We had a great time here, as did everyone attending.
Slim’s group led worship music this morning.
Little doll, busy this morning, but she would always stop and clap when everyone else was clapping. She loved walking in her aunt’s shoes.
Pastor Lucky brought a good Gospel message this morning.
A good picture of Vivian with a smile.
Diesel (on his birth certificate) was a busy little fellow, but he did stop long enough to “cheese” it for me.. only because his daddy told him to. That’s dad with little brother, Ezekiel. Beautiful babies.
Sweet Shari and Garth. Makes my heart warm just looking at this picture. After lunch was served, it was time to get ready to pull out. We didn’t want to do more damage to Ray and Vivian’s yard. The rain had been holding off all morning, but the rain drops began to sprinkle.(notice rain on windshield) Hmmm, those limbs look kind of low. We’re following Garth to their house.
We crossed the Muskegon River twice.
Shari and Garth’s yard is so pretty.
Garth helped Don get the Q parked beside their garage and Don got all the holding tanks dumped. We went inside and visited for a bit and admired their beautiful home.
It was unanimous that we all needed a nap, so we slept for about an hour and then went for a drive.
Sea gulls on top of the building at the Hardy Dam.
They are swans!! And with young, even! The young swan are called cygnets or, in some cases, flappers… so…. I learned something today!
So beautiful, but I was very careful not to get far from the car door while taking these pictures. After all, I understand maternal.
Next stop, Shari’s sister and brother-in-law’s river cottage… purchased in auction last August. They have done wonderful things here. The cottage needed lots of TLC, but….
the view needed no improvements!
The back of the cottage. Ron has enclosed the basement among other updates. Sandi had decorated the inside beautifully. This refrigerator was part of the purchase and works great since Sandi cleaned it up. Retro GE Whirlpool.
Don fell in love with the view, too. What can I say, it’s water.
Sandi and Shari in the cottage.
A room for all seasons, a Bible and a cup of coffee.
Next stop: We all went to a local Mexican food place and enjoyed Mexican pizzas and great conversation. So a wonderful weekend comes to a close. We’ve met more wonderful people, now. What a life!! We are so blessed.

Psalm 73
22 I was so foolish and ignorant—
I must have seemed like a senseless animal to you.
23 Yet I still belong to you;
you hold my right hand.
24 You guide me with your counsel,
leading me to a glorious destiny.
As Christians, we still sin and act foolishly, but God continues to be with us and guide us onto the right path. After our life is through, He takes us to heaven to live eternally with Him! O, what great grace we have been given!
