Yesterday and today have been nice, quiet days of rest. Except for doing laundry yesterday at Mother's. We spent most of the day with her, preparing dinner last night and eating with her. And playing "Shoot The Moon" with her. The rules online states "if the bid is max-ed out at 7 then the next player may "shoot the moon" if they believe they can catch all 7 tricks, gaining 21 points instead of 7 points. When playing with just three players, "our" rule is that anyone can bid "shoot the moon" when it's their time to bid and if the next player wants to "shoot the moon" over them, then the bid is 21 x 2 = 42 and etc. With the three of us, the game gets pretty wild some times, but we sure have fun. Mama just cracks us up. Not only does she ride a Hog, but she has a great sense of humor.
Incidentally, she informed me that I didn't mention that she still drives the Chevy pickup that she's standing beside in one of her pictures I took Saturday. Every time I see her driving, the tune to "Little Old Lady From Pasadena" starts playing in my head. I don't really know why... she's not from Pasadena.
Go granny, go granny, go granny go
Has a pretty little flower bed of white gardenias
is about the only part of the song that applies to my mother. Speaking of flowers, this beautiful iris is blooming in a pot on her front porch. Snookie! I just discovered how to make the pictures larger in Live Writer. Highlight the picture. Under "IMAGE" click the "Advanced" tab and there you may choose the size of your picture! Duh. Why haven't we found this before? LOL! There's more really cool things that can be done with images.
Today, Don and I visited his Aunt Bernice and Uncle Eddy. They love bird watching and have houses, feeders and water outside the living room window for the birds. Today, we saw a Painted Bunny feeding. Now... I have searched and googled and can not find a Painted Bunny bird. I regret that this little bird would not light long enough for me to get his picture, but he was very, very colorful.
I talked to our good friend in the Phoenix area today. Cheri and Tom are doing good, however, Tom still has not regained all his energy since going through heart surgery. We met them in Branson last summer and sure will miss them not being there this summer.
We spent the afternoon in our recliners, sometimes snoozing. Until interrupted by a good friend, David Bendure, who stopped by to visit. It was great to see David and visit with him. Tonight, Don suggested we order pizza and take it to LaNae's for dinner. So he made a salad and that's what we did. Lydia had gotten a haircut this afternoon. Really cute. I will get pictures in a day or two. We watched the AI with them. Our picks for the night are David Cook, David Archuleta, Carly Smithson and Syesha, who gave her best performance tonight. We love Brooke White, but her blunder of starting, stopping and starting over may cost her. She did recover well, however.
It looks like Don will be performing a wedding while we are here, so that should be a really interesting photo opp.
Stay tuned.

While I'm sure your Painted "Bunny" was quite lovely, Google Painted BUNTING for info on this beautiful bird.
Love reading your Blog! Glad to see you're having such a wonderful time visiting family. Enjoy your summer.
